A selection is copied when the mouse button comes up, through the terminal (OSC 52, which works over SSH in kitty, WezTerm, foot, Alacritty, Windows Terminal, iTerm2 and tmux with set-clipboard on) and, locally, through wl-copy, xclip or xsel. Where neither reaches the clipboard, hold Shift while dragging to use the terminal’s own selection, or /copy the last reply.
